Each year Table of Plenty awards scholarships to outstanding student volunteers who demonstrate over time a commitment to the mission of TOP and compassion and service to our guests. This year, TOP has awarded $1,000 scholarships to two high school volunteers — Senior Scholarship to Anna McMillan and Rising Star to sophomore, Aidan Saunders. Both students took a break from serving at Thursday night’s dinner to receive their certificate and scholarship award, and their parents joined the dinner as honored guests.

Anna is a senior at Half Moon Bay High School. She played high school soccer and is an excellent student. From her first day as a volunteer, Anna was thoughtful and engaged about our mission and conscientious toward her service and our guests. She plans to attend Cal Poly in the Fall studying Engineering. Aidan is a sophomore at Everest High School in Redwood City. He has been volunteering with TOP for a couple years and it has been impressive to watch him grow and mature into a consistent and responsible server and reliable helper to others.
