The TABLE of PLENTY guests are delighted to have 7th and 8th grade students from Sea Crest school volunteering as servers. Each month, Sea Crest school organizes a group of students to be trained and come spend the evening serving dinner to our guests. The goal of this new program is taken from one of the core values of a Sea Crest education — “to cultivate community and to inspire and empower the students to act with compassion”.
Both the guests and students are enjoying the experience. Guests encourage the novice servers and experienced servers mentor the students. Students are engaged in an opportunity to gain skills and grow in confidence while interacting with the diverse members of the community, preparing them to continue their community service while they are in high school. We thank Sea Crest school and their students for being part of the TABLE of PLENTY.
